About
My granny taught me to knit when I was 6 years old and she gifted me the chronicles of Narnia a year or so later. She instilled in me a love of reading that has sparked years of creativity and imagination.
After moving to Norway ten years ago my love of knitting was expanded as I learnt colourwork and how to knit sweaters and socks (neither as hard as I expected)
A solo trip to Bergen strikkefestival meant a chance meeting with the lovely Gilly of Fjord Fibres who mentioned she taught yarn dyeing classes. Instantly intrigued i signed up to the next class I saw. Within ten minutes of the course I knew I was hooked. I quickly went from dyeing with food colouring to experimenting with acid dyes.
As I began to think of new colourways the imagery from the children’s fantasy books i have always loved so much brought a wealth of inspiration and soon I was dyeing yarn that reminded me of special chapters or characters.
