Athena is probably best know ln the goddess of wisdom but she was also the goddess of handicrafts especially spinning and weaving.
Athena was ‘born’ from the head of Zeus after he had eaten the pregnant goddess Metis, unlike many of the other deities in Greek mythology Athena was far less prone to fits of jealousy although she did have a penchant for meddling in mortal conflicts.
